MASTER TEACHER PROGRAM

The Master Teacher Program was designed by ODE to recognize teachers who demonstrate excellence inside and outside of the classroom through consistent leadership and focused collaboration to maximize student learning. A master teacher strives for distinguished teaching and continued professional growth as specified by the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession.

ELIGIBILITY:
Teachers must at least:

  • Hold a valid professional license or certificate.
  • Have taught a minimum of 7 years. (substituting does not count toward years).
  • Work a minimum of 120 days during the current school year.
  • Work under a teaching contract / employed as teacher.
  • National Board Certified teachers qualify upon application.
