MISSION:

• to more effectively meet students long-term educational needs.
• to expand and enhance services for at-risk youth of Hardin County:
  a high school diploma from their home school, employment, post-secondary enrollment or other appropriate adult transition is possible.
• provide adjustments in scheduling, instructional practice and resources
• to accommodate up to fifteen students per semester.

• career exploration
• design an educational options plan to meet the student's specific academic needs using methods and resources that are not available in
  a traditional academic setting
• students work toward the graduation requirements of their home school district.

REFERRAL by the School Counselor or Principal:

1. Principal or Counselor gives student application.
2. Application is filled out and requested information is forwarded to the Screening Committee at the Hardin County Educational Service Center. Student's guardian completes a PRC Form, which is filled out at the Job & Family Services Office.
3. Upon recommendation of the Screening Committee, we will move to the intake process.

INTAKE PROCESS:

Intake process will consist of a meeting of the Hardin County Academy program director, instructor, work study coordinator, representative of the school district, student, parent or guardian, plus any other appropriate person(s) involved in the placement (i.e. principal, attendance officer, GRADS instructor, etc.) An educational plan will be done and agreed upon.
